Injured by HIV Drug Side Effects?

Investigation Into Dangerous HIV Drugs

Our attorneys are currently investigating claims on behalf of people who developed kidney disease or bone density loss after taking certain HIV drug treatments including:

TRUVADA® | VIREAD® | ATRIPLA® | STRIBILD® | COMPLERA®

Gilead Sciences, Inc & TDF Side Effects

Developing evidence shows that drug-maker Gilead Sciences, Inc. sold these products, which contain the active ingredient TDF (tenofovir disoproxil fumarate), knowing that these HIV drugs could cause serious side effects, all while withholding a safer version of the medication from doctors and patients. Gilead Sciences, Inc. allegedly developed another HIV treatment product—TAF (tenofovir alafenamide), later marketed as Genvoya® and Odefsey®—that achieves the therapeutic effect of TDF in HIV medications using a lower and safer dose. However, Gilead Sciences, Inc. chose not to bring TAF to market until they had maximized sales of their HIV drugs using TDF as the active ingredient.

Medications designed to treat or prevent HIV containing TDF (tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) may put patients at a significantly increased risk of kidney and bone toxicity. Among those HIV drugs with increased risk of side effects are commonly prescribed treatments such as:

TRUVADA® | VIREAD® | ATRIPLA® | STRIBILD® | COMPLERA®

Taking these medications may increase your risk of kidney and bone injuries. If you or a loved one has suffered from kidney damage or bone injury as a result of taking these medications, contact us now.
